About the Course

This is a course we’ve wanted to do for a number of years. Like all good things, the right time and right season need to line up in order for us to pull mini-courses together. The rescue and rigging environment was ripe for a solid introduction to likely one of the most important advancements in a decade. What was the advancement? Well, likely the Artificial High Directional. And with this in mind, the Harken Riggers Winch takes the “elevated anchors” to another level in both efficiency and effectiveness.

In the Harken Riggers & LokHead Winch Mini-Course, we'll be examining two systems of winches: the standard Riggers Winch and the LokHead Riggers Winch.

Setting up for both high directionals and horizontal systems (with and without elevated anchor setups), we’ll check out the ease and simplicity of mode raise and lower modes and also discuss why these products are so incredibly easy to use.

Our prediction? Teams of 2-4 will be as effective — if not more effective — than current traditional teams. Why? I think you’ll understand once completed the course. We hope you’ll join us inside!

  • General information pertaining to the use of rescue rigging winches

A bit of a sales tool for RLA and Harken. I love harken products, some of this course included the manuals, other portions of the class conflicted with each other. Example - 8:1 winch speed vs the actual 13:1. Definitely had some good info in the course, but perhaps was lacking in advanced educational components.
